The evening entertainment at Emma & Neil’s wedding reception on Friday took me back a few years! The last time England won the World Cup ( 1966 to be exact ) Paul, John, George & Ringo ruled the airwaves on both sides of the Atlantic and Beatlemania was at it’s height.
Tribute band The Mersey Beatles travelled all the way down from Liverpool to play at Emma & Neil’s wedding at Theobalds Park in Cheshunt. They certainly looked and sounded the part and I was, for a few fondly remembered tracks, transported back to the wonderful sixties and in particular 1966 when we gloriously beat the impressive German footall team to a 4 - 2 defeat on the 30th July..
Heres hoping that 2010 will be a repeat performance as far as the football is concerned! Congratulations Emma & Neil!
