St Etheldreda’s in Ely Place, London is Britain’s oldest Catholic Church. It’s origins date from the time when bishops were called to sit in Parliament. And it was here on Saturday the 24th October at 2pm that Katherine and Assad were married.

The word confetti originates from the Italian word referring to edible favours and candies given to wedding guests.
Modern paper confetti is a relatively new invention, first documented in the 1890s. It quickly became popular at society weddings and soon went into mass production.
Apparently the origin of the confetti tradition probably goes back to pagan fertility...

Saturday brought some very blustery weather during the day here in Knebworth.
